The Nutrients Your Pet Needs

The nutrients your pet needs

Nutrition is one of the keys to your pet’s growth and development. However, it is not enough to give him the kibble 2 or 3 times a day, you need to know the nutrients he needs and choose the right product that contains them. Obviously, as the animal grows, its diet will have to undergo changes.

Today we will talk about the necessary nutrients for our animals. They are nothing more than the components that your pet, dog or cat, needs to live. We list below those that absolutely cannot be excluded from your friend’s diet.

For every living being, water is absolutely essential for life. Your pet’s body is made up of 70% water. Furthermore, by practicing various activities and staying on the move, your friend will lose a quantity of fluids that must be reintroduced so that he does not become dehydrated.

The dog or cat must always have access to a container with fresh, clean water. But that’s not enough, you must also choose foods that contain good amounts of water. Avoid milk and other types of drinks that can cause diarrhea.

Proteins

Protein is an irreplaceable component that your pet cannot do without. It is one of the fundamental nutrients for cells and plays an important role in the growth of hair, nails and skin; but above  all, proteins are essential for the development of muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Another vital function of proteins is to transport oxygen in the body.

Protein is found in foods such as chicken, veal or any other type of meat and fish. Soy also has a high protein content.

Fat

We know that excess fats are very harmful to the body. However, at the same time, fat is one of the main sources of energy, so if you want your pet to be active, cheerful and full of energy, you will need to introduce this nutrient into his diet.

Fat absorbs vitamins and generates essential fatty acids for your four-legged friend’s body. In fact, there are some vitamins that can only be diluted in fat, and therefore its presence will be necessary to supplement them.

It plays a decisive role in the skin and coat of the dog and activates its metabolic system.

Carbohydrates and minerals

Carbohydrates are one of the main sources of energy that we can find in rice, starch and pasta. They turn into energy very quickly, which in turn turns into power.

Minerals are essential nutrients for the formation of bones, muscles, teeth and more.  They also actively participate in the growth of puppies and it is therefore of great importance to choose a food with a high mineral content.

Vitamins and fibers

Nutritional principles

Vitamins: an element that cannot be missing

Vitamins can absolutely not be missing in your pet’s diet, because  they have the task of protecting it from infections and diseases,  moreover each of them is beneficial for a specific part of the body: sight, nervous system, blood clotting, bones, skin, etc.

The benefits of fiber

The fiber has the task of eliminating everything that the animal could not digest through the feces. This is very important, because it will prevent your friend from filling up with toxins or other components that are harmful to health.

A low-fiber diet can cause constipation, so don’t forget to include it in your pet’s diet.

Choosing food that is high in these nutrients may lead you to spend a little more, but in the long run it will save you a lot of worries about possible diseases that the dog could contract. Choose quality foods to have a happy and healthy pet.
