Some companies have joined the therapeutic-effect initiative that allows employees to bring their dogs to the office. In the offices where it was possible to bring your dog, lower levels of stress were recorded, not only among the owners of the animals, but also among other employees. Many may think this is madness, yet several scientific studies have supported this fact. In addition to this, surveys conducted by some large companies that allow access to animals have offered revealing data.
For example, 75 million citizens believe that taking dogs to the office makes them happier; 70 million said it reduces stress, both for themselves and for those around them; 47 million argue that the presence of animals in the workplace promotes a better and more productive climate; 41 million say they develop more intimate and lasting bonds with co-workers.
Could one ask more from an act as simple and noble as taking your dog to the office? This is certainly not new, as pioneering companies such as Google, Amazon or Nestlé already allowed it in some of their offices. Nestlé’s headquarters in Gatwick, UK was the first to take the initiative.

Each situation has pros and cons. Bringing your dog to the office offers several benefits, which extend to everyone, yet not all people love dogs and some are allergic to these animals.
If, therefore, going to work with the dog on the one hand seems to favor relationships with colleagues, on the other, relationships with some will break down for the same reason.
If the company allows animals to be brought to work, you are certainly justified, but you will have to consider the wishes of others to avoid negative energies. After all, the workplace is where we spend the most hours of the day.
Companies take this into account and that is why they only accept employees’ pets if their vaccination and pesticide treatment booklet is up to date, if they are clean, have their nails trimmed and their fur well brushed. Ultimately, they must have good health and good looks.
It is the employee’s duty to keep their pet away from those who are allergic; if this is not possible, the company will ensure that these people have a space away from dogs.
The presence of animals in the workplace must benefit everyone and reduce the stress of workers. The aim is not to make those who do not like animals or those who are allergic to them nervous.
Asian countries generally do not join initiatives like these, which is why we are delighted to know that Thailand has taken a step forward in this area. We hope this will be the first initiative so that animals can one day occupy the place they deserve in society.
