Dogs Repel Those Who Treat Their Owners Badly

Dogs repel those who treat their owners badly

Have you ever seen a dog bark, apparently for no reason? Apparently, these beautiful animals develop the same tastes as their owners, compared to others, strangers or acquaintances that they are. It is no coincidence, in fact, that it is now known that dogs reject those who treat their owners badly .

They have a reputation for being very intuitive animals. They notice when the people around them are sad or happy. But they are also very grateful and do not forget those who have always treated them well. Many families assure that dogs repel those who treat their owners badly because they are able to detect people’s bad energies. Precisely for this reason, it is interesting to talk about the tests carried out and which confirm these surprising theses.

A surprising experiment

Driven by the curiosity to investigate the bond between owner and dog, a few years ago a research team from the University of Kyoto began studying certain dog behaviors. The objective of the investigation was to determine the reaction of different specimens to people interacting with their owners.

To carry out the experiment, 54 dogs were involved, divided into three groups. The first group received food from people who, in front of them, openly refused to cooperate with their owners. The second group had to choose between a bowl provided by a person who, manifestly, helped the owners of the animals, and another served by an unknown and neutral individual.

Finally, the third received food from two strangers who had had no previous interaction with pets or their owners. All the dogs went through the three tests.

The result

Of the 54 dogs evaluated, only one agreed to eat from the container served by someone who had “mistreated” its owner. None of the dogs showed clear preferences between “neutral strangers” and those who had helped their owners.

For those in charge of this work this means that dogs do not act according to their own interests. They are able to identify and reject those who dislike the human members of their families.

It’s true: your dog hates those who treat you badly

Thanks to this experiment, today it is legitimate to say that dogs reject those who treat their owners badly. These pets identify the positive role of people by giving utmost importance to the bond with the owner. Something that also happens the other way around, and that is when someone does them good.

It can happen in the case of some vets, for example, who are  greeted with affectionate affection from grateful dogs. This is regardless of how many people have been in their life or the time since the last meeting.

Can dogs capture positive energies?

Experts assure that, in addition to the ability to detect bad intentions, dogs are animals that read body language very well. They also point out that dogs evaluate and even “judge” people based on their behavior and attitude in an integral way.

The origin of this type of interactions lies in the way these mammals relate to each other. Dogs have done nothing but shift their “social code” into coexistence with humans.

This pattern is evident when examining the behavior of wild herds. Dogs reject and relegate groups that do not cooperate in hunting strategies.  The same goes for those who are constantly aggressive. In summary: reckless or violent dogs are “socially” excluded.

What else do dogs perceive than humans?

After a close relationship of over 15,000 years, these pets know everything about humans. The tests carried out have not only demonstrated the rejection of those who treat their masters badly. They go beyond identifying basic feelings alone, such as sadness, joy, or loneliness.

Dogs clearly perceive stress and anxiety. So much so that they are influenced by them, so they will exhibit attitudes such as barking uncontrollably, for no apparent reason.

At the end of our article, we reiterate the fact that dogs are able to sense certain physical or emotional states of people both in negative and in positive. A surprising fact that goes hand in hand with those certain dog breeds which, as has been shown, are able to detect even serious diseases, simply by smell.
