Animal Abusers Will Not Be Allowed To Have Pets

Animal abusers will not be allowed to have pets

There are topics that are difficult to deal with because you don’t know how to deal with them. This is the case with the mistreatment of animals and this is what we are concerned with today. A statement has been released in the media, which we hope will turn into reality, and concerns the fact that  animal abusers can no longer own pets.

There is already a Universal Declaration of Animal Rights, as there are already, in some places, stricter laws regarding the protection of animals, such as in Catalonia, Spain, where it is no longer possible to organize bullfights.

Animal abusers, the new law

The Spanish penal code  considers domestic or domesticated animals, such as dogs and cats, to be protected species , and condemns their mistreatment. However, this law will also protect animals such as ferrets, iguanas, tarantulas, etc. This will prevent animal abusers from owning pets for up to three years.

These new measures will be introduced in the code by means of some negotiations between the party of the PP and the ERC. In addition to the  ban on owning pets for one to three years, the abuser will also have to  pay a hefty fine and will not be able to practice any profession or entertain any trade involving interaction with animals.

There will also be an expansion of the animals protected by this law, as long as they are under human protection. In fact, animals such as snakes, pigs, ferrets, iguanas, spiders, etc. will  fall under this protection. Abandonment or endangering the life of the animals will also be punished with six months.

However, there are those who think that the law is not complete, since it  does not include the prohibition of fighting between cocks or dogs, nor do they punish people who use the mistreatment of animals in unauthorized shows, as in the case of the Toro de la Vega, which is celebrated in Tordesillas, Valladolid, Spain.

What does the Toro de la Vega tournament consist of?

The tournament of the Toro de la Vega (the bull of the prairies, in Spanish) is a show that is celebrated in Valladolid and consists in the  chase of a bull by a multitude of people armed with spears and spears, who attack and injure a death the bull. This bloody spectacle begins in the streets of Tordesillas, where the bull is released and where people start chasing him to the countryside, where the animal will meet death.

This tournament has become very popular in recent years, due to the great controversy and protests against this bloody spectacle.

Some defend the rights of animals, while others their tradition. But  how can a party be called such, when a living being is mistreated and killed?

Animal abusers

Humans are the only animals capable of mistreating and then killing other animals  for the sole purpose of amusement or for the sole pleasure of killing. Animal abusers are cruel people who cause death and suffering to animals for the simple sake of flaunting their supreme power.

However, there are experts who say that a person who begins to abuse animals is likely  to have suffered abuse from other people in the past. It was therefore concluded that animal abusers were themselves victims of mistreatment in the home.

Abusers often subdue pets to make it clear who is more powerful, to be the center of attention, to keep the family submissive, or even to establish a regime of terror within their own home.

But be careful: the mistreatment of animals is not limited to just beating or killing, but also for example to  force two animals to fight each other or to participate in a show where in the end they are victims of mistreatment.
