A dog saves a three-year-old girl who got lost in the woods

Those who are parents know perfectly well that it is not possible to take your eyes off your children for a moment, since in that short period of time they would be able to make some trouble at home.

Sometimes we surprise them with attitudes that make us smile, but other times they can put their physical integrity at risk.

Nonetheless, most of you will agree that the worst times are when we have lost sight of our children outside the home, even for a second. In that eternal moment, an infinity of fears and terrors invade our minds.

Fortunately, in most cases they reappear quickly, leaving us wondering whether to hug them or punish them. We usually do both, in that order.

In this regard, today we will talk about the story of a dog who recovered a three-year-old girl after spending 11 days lost in a forest.

Dogs: the best friends of children

If we consider that man’s best friend is the dog, we cannot disagree that these animals form an extraordinary couple even with children. The little ones of the house are able to establish a solid relationship with their favorite animals, which brings great benefits to both.

One of the advantages is that the dog develops a protective instinct towards the child, greatly reassuring the parents. In fact, we know that if our child is guarded by the dog, nothing bad will happen to him.

This bond has certainly played a fundamental role in keeping the protagonists of this article united in the face of adversity.

A dog saves a girl who has been missing for almost two weeks in the woods

Karina Chikitova was only 3 years old when what we are about to tell you happened. One morning his parents were quite busy, as his father was about to leave for a trip.

After starting the vehicle, the father did not realize that his daughter had started running after him, getting lost in the woods with the dog. The mother, not seeing her daughter return, thought a little surprised that she had gone with her father. So it was 4 days before he filed a complaint for his disappearance, and immediately the searches began.

Meanwhile the little girl was in the middle of the woods, struggling to keep herself alive. She built a house of weeds, fed on wild berries and drank water from a nearby river.

Even if the fact happened in the summer, during this time of the year, in Siberia the night temperature drops to zero degrees. However, that wasn’t much of a problem as her pet provided her with the warmth she needed to survive for 9 long nights. After that the dog went home.

When everything seemed lost, the animal was able to lead the emergency teams to the little girl, who, despite everything, was in good physical condition. Weak but happy, Karina is back in the house she should never have left.

A similar story featuring a dog and a girl in Poland

A similar story happened some time ago in a village in Poland. Another 3-year-old girl scared the hell out of her parents one day while she was in the backyard. In a moment it disappeared into thin air.

When Julia’s parents, this is the little girl’s name, realized she was missing, they started looking for her without getting positive results. Without wasting any more time,  they contacted the local authorities.

A rescue team of more than 250 people, including policemen, firefighters and local volunteers, was organized to search for Julia. There was also a team of dogs and a helicopter with an infrared camera to facilitate night vision.

The group spent the whole night on the trail of the little girl, but nothing helped.

Yet the next day, the little girl was found a few kilometers from her home, in a ditch. It was completely wet and was unable to get back up.

But she wasn’t there alone: her dog Charek had stayed all night beside her, providing her with warmth. If he hadn’t been there, she would surely have died of hypothermia, considering that the temperatures that night had dropped to 5 degrees below zero. Julia was hospitalized for only a few days, until she was fully recovered.

These two stories undoubtedly show the unequivocal union that binds dogs to children. So what are you waiting for to feed it?
