Once we arrived in Peru, Claudio began to feel a lot of nostalgia for his loyal 3-year-old Labrador, named Bumer, a dog that was not only beautiful and loving, but also incredibly loyal. For this reason, Claudio made a decision as bold as it was incredible.

After talking with Angelica, the two decided to take the first plane to the country they came from, Colombia, to fetch their four-legged friend whom they had in the meantime entrusted to the care of Claudio’s father.

Cross Peru by bike

You are surely wondering how Bumer managed to cross all of Peru on a backpacking trip. Well, Claudio and Angelica designed a kind of bicycle for him, with a space in the back where the animal could sit without running any kind of danger.

Although he traveled mainly in this curious vehicle, the dog did not lack the opportunity to walk next to the owners  and to live the incredible experience of traveling through those magical and unknown places full of charm.

According to what Claudio said, these walks lasted only from 7 to 10 in the morning, because the sun then became so strong that it forced them to rest and then resume their journey in the country of the Incas, so that the dog did not tire too much.

Although some areas were really very complicated to travel, the three managed to cross all of Peru in about 8 months, during which time  the dog became the real star of every city or village that the group visited. People showed themselves loving to Bumer, everyone caressed him and wished the three to continue their adventure in the best possible way.

Their passage through the country aroused so much interest that, in addition to being invited on a television show to tell their story, a famous brand of dog food offered the three the advice of a veterinarian and all the food Bumer needed to travel.
