Some time ago we told you about a new project that was starting to be realized all over the world. These are the beaches for dogs. There are already many countries that have them and they are a real joy for our animals. Also for their owners, who can see them having fun without worrying about being hunted. All that’s missing is a kiosk for dogs.
Kiosk is the name given to a small bar or restaurant located on the beach. Sometimes they are even found on the beach itself. Well, one already exists at one of the dog beaches. But let’s see why this is a good idea.
Why a dog kiosk?
All of us who have dogs have brought our pets to the sea for years, before dog beaches existed. We couldn’t resist seeing our little dog having fun is what we love the most. There is no doubt that they have a great time on the beach.
Take them off the leash to make them run and jump like crazy. Some even dare to go into the water. They roll in the sand or play with their own kind, if there are any. This is why we are delighted when we hear that dog beaches are being created in many places.
Perhaps we have already had them for a couple of years, fenced beaches where we can let our dog release the adrenaline and ride as he pleases without worrying if we are doing right or wrong.
However, dogs get tired, and so do we. So, taking our dogs to the beach, many of us thought it would be nice to have a cold beer. But of course, we would like our dog to get something too. From this thought the idea of the first kiosk for dogs was born.
The first kiosk for dogs
The idea of the first dog kiosk became a reality in Mallorca. This Spanish resort is known for being modern and innovative. The perfect place to carry out such a special project.
This location has a famous dog beach called Es Carnatge. Here we find the Handle Bar, a small establishment where dogs and owners can relax after a long play session.
It was made from recycled wood and is small in size, so that its entire structure harmonizes with the landscape in which it was built. Although there were some minor bureaucratic problems and it had to be closed for a while, this bar is open every day from 8 in the morning until midnight.
Prices are moderate, with beers for 2 euros or mojitos for 3 euros. For dogs there is always fresh water and maybe even some treats. They can go anywhere they like and and it is a decidedly dog friendly establishment.
It was very well received in its first months of operation and now offers a menu with ice cream, cocktails, coffee and food to enjoy while your dog runs on the beach. From there you can perfectly observe your dog, so you can rest assured and enjoy your moment of relaxation.
A fantastic invention that we hope will soon spread to other beaches in Spain and, of course, the world. Because even our dogs have the right to relax in a welcoming place that offers them what they love most. Good music and good food in a cozy and comfortable place is all that the Handle Bar has to offer you and your pets.
