Depressed Dog Heals Thanks To His New Duck Friend
Animals constantly surprise us. Although the bonds of “friendship” that are created between various species are not new, knowing new stories and curiosities never ceases to touch us. Today we are going to tell you about the story of a depressed dog who regained his happiness thanks to a duck.
A story of friendship between animals of different species
The 12-year-old dog George had lost his lifelong friend the Labrador Blackie for 2 years . From that point on, not a single day went by without the dog crying and his distress and anxiety had nearly led to his death on a couple of occasions. His mistress, Jaquie Litton, had never stopped trying to comfort her pet. However, there was no way the dog could regain the will to live.

Everything changed when, literally out of nowhere, a duck appeared on the porch of the house and approached the depressed dog. Since then dog and bird have become inseparable and George has never cried for the absence of his friend Blackie.
Here is one more detail that makes this story stand out and that leaves the door open for those who want to seek enigmatic interpretations: the duck entered George’s life during the week of the second anniversary of the Labrador’s disappearance.

Litton claims he has no idea how the duck, named Donald, got to his home. “After all, we are a republican family,” joked the woman. In any case, the special relationship that has arisen between George and the bird is amazing.
In the videos and photos posted on Jacquie’s Facebook page we can see them together: sometimes they stroll quietly around the property, others we see them snuggled in the garden. Once the dog even gave his kennel to Donald, so that he could take a nap in peace!
Litton is very grateful that the duck has entered George’s life and that she has given him back the joy of life and assures that she will give the bird all the necessary care. The woman has in fact committed to making the necessary changes so that her home in Tennessee becomes a comfortable and welcoming place for this new and unexpected member of the family.
Other stories between dogs and ducks
Although stories of mothers adopting puppies of other species to raise and nurse them are fairly common, the friendship between dogs and ducks also has some precedents that have been told by some media outlets.

Furthermore, harmonious coexistence between dogs, ducks and… cats seems possible. This is the case with Roxy, Edith, Mia, Rose, Gertrude, Donald and Jack, the four dogs, the two ducks and the cat that make up Kasey’s non-human family.
The woman saved these animals from various situations of abuse and neglect. The relationship between them is of perfect harmony. All this despite the dogs being used for clandestine fights.
Love, care and respect for all beings seems to be the recipe for different species to coexist in peace. We humans should learn from them, as too often we can’t even live with our fellow humans.
