Great March In Defense Of Animal Rights

Great march in defense of animal rights

Animals cannot speak or defend themselves. For this reason, there are people who communicate and fight on their behalf. We are talking about a great march carried out in favor of animal rights and which, fortunately, has been repeated in various parts of the world.

Peace and animal rights

Basically, these two premises were taken into consideration during the march that took place in various Colombian cities in favor of animals. All the people fighting for animal rights have joined together on the initiative of the “Animales Libres de Tortura” platform (ALTO). A peaceful protest that included posters, animals and music.

The idea was simple: to respect all living beings who live in the national territory. Under the hymn “Peace for animals, peace for nature”, various social bodies, public figures, students and people of all ages took part in the main march, which began at 9 am. The event culminated with a musical performance by the Bogotá Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

Other cities have also joined the Colombian capital.

The Argentine march for animal rights

In June, protectionists and rescuers from a coastal city in Argentina organized a march in defense of animals in the main square, in front of the cathedral. About 500 people showed up with their pets singing the hymn “Not one less” and marching so that everyone knew that they are the voice of those who cannot speak.

The violence and abuse suffered by animals every day were the issues discussed during the Argentine march. The event passed in silence, the participants hope that the law against animal abuse will now be respected at the national level.

The main topics to work on are the irresponsible care of animals and their exploitation for jobs, fights, racing, as in the case of Greyhounds, or the poor conditions in which they live in zoos.

The march to Mexico

Apparently, this year there have been numerous mobilizations in favor of animal rights in Central and Latin America. The third case concerns Mexico City, again in June. Several civil and city organizations took part in the march. On the one hand, there was talk of the importance of awareness of society and, on the other, of the lack of laws that take into consideration all living beings.

During this great march in Mexico, the importance of a recently amended law was stressed, which prohibits the presence of animals in circus and similar shows.

Many participants marched disguised as animals such as tigers, crocodiles, pigs, killer whales and zebras. In this way, they talked about an issue that affects all species due to human behavior. The event took place in the streets of the historic center of the city and they also demonstrated against bullfights, zoos, water shows, experiments or scientific tests on animals.

What to do for animal rights?

If you wish to be an activist for beings who have no voice, there are many ways to collaborate. First, know the problem that harms animals the most in your city or town. There is a lot of research that can be useful to you. You can “dedicate yourself” to a particular situation, for example the indiscriminate hunting of whales, animals used in circuses, the sale of purebred dogs, working animals, etc.

The second step is to be active. How? By sharing the data you collect with the people around you, on social networks, in your neighborhood, at university or at work. Lack of information is often the worst punishment that animals can receive.

We also advise you to look for an association or a foundation that is responsible for carrying out actions in favor of animal rights (such as Greenpeace or WWF) and be part of it.
